The Return of Goblin

August 7th, 2008

goblin

Goblin is pushing things in a new direction in the "streetwear industry". Instead of relying on tried and true rap music and sneaker lyrics. They’re delving deep in to the illistrated skateboard graphics, Fangoria magazines and horror movie imagery of their younger years when everything was fresh, new and scary.

We’re very proud to offer this line in its near entirety and encourage you to get in on the hunt.

The Beer of Summer

August 5th, 2008

When it starts to get past the halfway point of Summer I start looking for things to cling to to help define it and thus make it more memorable and seemingly longer.

If we’re talking about beer awards, I gotta give it to Leinenkugel’s Sunset wheat. It’s pretty much perfect.. there’s some kind of fruity pomegranate or citrus taste but it’s not too much. They’re good if you have two or eight. It’s relatively inexpensive and available at Wegman’s.

I’m going to drink one right now.

Morgan Geist - Double Night Time

July 30th, 2008

This release snuck up on me. Morgan Geist (of Metro Area) is one of my favorite producers of the last few years. He’s back with 9 new tracks, a few of them feature Jeremy Greenspan from the Junior Boys (of whom I’m also a fan).

This is a great cruising-at-night-with-the-windows-down Summer album. Some of the slower stuff is a bit boring but overall.. good stuff.

Check out one of my favorites: Most of All (though, this was previously released on its own ep).

Apparently the official release isn’t until October but keep an eye out.

Buffalo Ledge Spot

July 30th, 2008

Jonny and I closed up shop a few minutes early yesterday to go check out the foundation spot the Sunday guys set up. It’s a bit out of the way, in the industrial area over by General Mills that always smells like weird Cheerios.

I was pretty surprised by the random local bars that are over there. I saw two in what is otherwise an abandoned set of city blocks but both seemed full of people that went straight there from the factory.

I still need to work on getting my legs back. I did start to get used to my new wider board though.

For more info on Buffalo skate spots, check out the Cityscape that Sunday owner JP wrote for Skateboarder Magazine.

A Mid Summer Night’s Bellini

July 27th, 2008

Oh there are so many ways we could go with this but come the fuck on. Do you remember summer vacation of 2nd grade when you were still SOOO fascinated by holograms and the music that your friends pretended to like was 15 years from being created?

Well fuck it.. I almost bought a new dog today. This business is about to go belly up and I am just remembering again who it is that makes me that which I am.

I’m buying that fucking dog and just cause I’m 28 doesn’t mean I forgot how things were at the old blog .

I can’t wait for taste of Ellicotteville.

Incase X KRINK curated by Arkitip

July 22nd, 2008

Incase just released their new collaboration with Craig Costello (aka: KR of KRINK) curated by art publication Arkitip. It’s pretty incredible. Incase’s signature Macbook/Macbook pro sleeve has gotten the drippy, silver KRINK treatment. These are produced in extremely limited quantities with only Incase’s best accounts getting the offer. We sold a bunch in the store yesterday right when they came in so don’t expect these to be around long.

Transforming Owl

July 17th, 2008

The video starts off a bit slow and it’s in Japanese so you might want to bail out but don’t. This owl has some sick camouflage/intimidation techniques where it makes itself look like other animals.

Thanks to Awesome Andrea for the tip on this.. so ill!

The Most Expensive Vans Ever

July 17th, 2008

Checking in at $350, these all ostrich leather Vans Chukka Boots are the most expensive sneakers the 40+ year old company has ever put out.

While many of the styles in the Vault line fetch a higher price than traditional Vans, these are at least double the previous most expensive pair.

The high price tag has caused many shops to shy away from them which has made the Ostrich Chukka extremely rare and highly sought after.
